The International Benchmark for Environmental Credibility

Green Consulting

Consulting is not for everyone, but those who see the emerging market of Green businesses will appreciate what is on the horizon and happening every day.  Green consulting is now a serious business.  There are more than 27 million businesses in America according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and it is obvious that every business will need to Green Up its operation.  This is a market that cannot be denied.

There are several ways that businesses may choose in their journey to Green.  The first method is to greenwash by making a token effort and calling the company Green.  Some have installed CFL bulbs, bought some Green products, and started recycling trash.  While that is a good start, it is far from a Green business.

Others will go to one of the dozens of online Green logo purveyors to buy their Green certification online.  The routine is basically the same (although several claim that they actually audit their members .. no true).  The website visitor pays a fee, fills in several forms ("The Audit"), and gets their Green certification logo sent out.  This is greenwashing too, but it is actually worse.  It is a public deception because the public tends to trust that a  Green logo is something more than a money transaction without any true review.

The requirement of a live verification by an independent auditor is the standard for every credible certification.  If the building inspector took money to issue the occupancy permit without inspecting the home but accepted the builder's representations, wouldn't that be bribery?  Audits are the only sure way to end greenwashing and similar misrepresentations.

Those who wish to make a major contribution to their community and become a Green consultant and audit are welcome to attend the Green consulting classes offered by the Green Business League, Inc.  These classes will in be held in Chicago in March, Los Angeles in May, and Miami on June.  (www.GreenConsultantTraining.com).

Green Business League is in the same camp as LEED, ISO, and other credible certifications because they have never certified a business without a live audit.  That means that every business must make environmental improvements to a certain level of achievement (counting in points), and a auditor must verify each of these improvements.

The introduction of the Green Path system now blows open the door for reaching each and every business and each and every home with a program that welcomes honest participation in the Green movement.  This also means that new career opportunity exists across the country for quality people to serve as Green consultants.
