GREEN BUSINESS LEAGUE

There is a haunting question about Going Green.  Can any business do this, or it is only for the larger corporations?  It has been correctly said that the environmental issue is a universal problem that requires universal participation.  Christine Moscaritolo is a State Farm agent who decided to create a Green office. 

Christine worked with Heather Deschenes of Green Impact  Solutions, Inc (http://greenimpactsolutions.com) to complete a Green assessment and develop sufficient Green practices to earn the silver level Green business certification.

The insurance business is a good segway to discussion of heath and community impact.  Certainly, as a person who is so vitally involved in the community and the health and well-being of her customers, Christine is able to show that her commitment is not just about business.  Going Green has become a leadership issue as seen as such companies as WalMart, Dell Computers, and Hewlett Packard.  The triple bottom line of planet, people, and profits places a needed balance for even community-based businesses.

Going Green is a personal commitment to the environment that should translate into a business application as well.  What the environmentally-committed person soon realizes is that the ability to be Green comes from installing many smaller Green practices that become a way of life and business.  This State Farm office serves as an example for other area businesses to follow.
